Neals Maxilin’s career in healthcare began in 2014 at a community hospital serving low-income patients — verifying insurance, completing ACA applications, registering patients, and learning firsthand how billing mistakes affect people’s access to care.
Over the next decade, Neals rose through billing roles across private practices, multi-location groups, and Fortune 500 hospital systems, earning promotions to Billing Manager, Team Lead, and Subject Matter Expert along the way.

2014 — Community Health Hospital
Started at a community hospital serving low-income demographics. Responsibilities included front desk operations, patient registration, insurance verification, and assisting patients with ACA applications. Built a foundational understanding of both the human and financial sides of healthcare access.
Private Practice — Billing Manager & Trainer
Moved into a private practice specializing in DME, pain cream, and cancer screening. Promoted to Billing Manager and Trainer, responsible for staff development, coding accuracy, and claims management.
Multi-Location — Billing Team Lead & Manager (6 Locations)
Led billing operations across 6 chiropractic locations, overseeing $15M+ in annual claims with a 95% clean claim rate and zero timely filing denials. Managed offshore billing staff and cross-location billing workflows.
